FORMACIÓN RESIDENCIAL
The residential complex at the main train station in Madrid examines the idea of a system, which operates as a closed system for its inhabitants to interact in an unforeseen with each other but it is open to the public and interacting with its urban environment. It is driven by an autonomous farming machinery, which interconnects different neighbourhoods and provides food for the residents.
Each Unit is customized and designed to work in horizontal as well as vertical direction but provides different spaces when rotated. The tool we created in order to make the housing units, works with movements of special configurations. We came up with 3 different identifiable types of units for certain types of residents.
A lowered public area with circulating water creates a microclimate and water streams are transferred into the food factory as a looped supply system.
