PAPER CAVE
The major objective of the paper cave conception was to create an expressive structural system out of thin sheet material.
This structure meets challenges, such as adaptability to complex geometry like a point cloud, stability without increasing material thickness and an assembly method with a certain tolerance, which was crucial for translating the digital geometry to a physical model.
Our approach, was to create a self-supporting structure consisting of 2 interlocking major structural layers, which exploit their counterpart‘s capabilities.
